Barcelona in One Day: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell

What you'll see

The day covers the most recognisable parts of Barcelona and ends at the Sagrada Familia, with skip-the-line entry to the basilica and Park Güell included.

• Montjuïc (about 2 h in the area): the hill with panoramic views over the city and the sea. You pass Plaça d'Espanya, the MNAC, the Olympic Stadium and the castle, with a stop at a viewpoint for photos.
• Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter (a walk of about 2 h): the medieval streets, the Cathedral, Plaça del Rei and the squares where Barcelona began, with a glimpse of Las Ramblas and Barceloneta on the way.
• Passeig de Gràcia, Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia: the modernist avenue with Casa Batlló and La Pedrera (seen from the vehicle), Park Güell, and as the finale the Sagrada Familia — one of Barcelona's most important churches and a perfect example of Catalan Gothic religious architecture. It includes skip-the-line entry and an exterior guided visit; you enter the interior of both monuments with the included ticket and explore them on your own.

How it works

The meeting point is La Rambla 97, next to the «Casa Beethoven» music store, at 9:00 a.m. — arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. The day is on foot and with private transport on some legs, in a small group, and ends at the Sagrada Familia. There is no hotel pickup.

The entries are included: skip-the-line entry to the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, plus an exterior guided visit of the Sagrada Familia. You explore the interiors on your own with the ticket — the Sagrada Familia with an audio-guide app; the guide accompanies you on the city part (Gothic Quarter, Montjuïc) and the exterior of the basilica, but doesn't go inside the monuments with you. There's an hour for lunch between Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia entry is nominative: details are requested at booking and the document is shown at the entrance.

Who I'd recommend it to

• If you have a single day in Barcelona and want to see the most without organising anything.
• If you want the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell sorted: skip-the-line entry included (the interior is self-guided).
• If you want a guide who gives you context for the whole city, not just one monument.
• If you're travelling with kids: child seats are available and the pace mixes transport and walking (under-5s enter the Sagrada Familia free).

Who I would NOT recommend it to

• If you want hotel pickup: this tour has a central meeting point (La Rambla 97).
• If you expect the guide to explain the monuments inside: the interiors of the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are self-explored (the Sagrada Familia with an audio guide).
• If you want a relaxed day: it's around 7 hours with a lot of walking.
